Michael Alexander is the Executive Director of Grand Performances, which presents free performing arts that reflect the best of global culture and inspire community among the diverse peoples of Los Angeles. Previously a performer, arts manager, and curator of cultural programs, Alexander started his professional performing career as a teenager, working as a clown in the Los Angeles City Circus and as a dancer in the Aman Folk Ensemble. Alexander now serves as Immediate Past Chair of the California Arts council and on a variety of nonprofit boards.
