FORM FAQsThis site uses the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) for publications and application forms. Our forms are interactive and can be filled out and printed by the reader. Once printed and signed, the forms are simply mailed to the foundation. What is an Adobe PDF file? The Portable Document Format (PDF) is a unique cross-platform PostScript-based file format developed by Adobeİ. A PDF file can describe documents containing any combination of text, graphics, and images in a device and resolution independent format. What software is required to view a PDF file? The Adobe ACROBAT READER or Macintosh Previewİ software is required to access PDF documents. ACROBAT READER can be downloaded free from the Adobe web site. Click
on the graphic below to go to the Adobe site to download the free Adobe
ACROBAT READER. Preview is automatically loaded onto Macintosh computers
operating system OS-X. How do I use a PDF?The free ACROBAT READER software allows you to view, navigate, and print PDF files across all major computing platforms. Forms on this site are downloaded in Adobe Acrobat format. These forms can be filled out, printed ('File > print'), signed, and mailed. Errors in typing can be quickly corrected by retyping or pressing the 'CLEAR - RESET' button accompanying the form fields. To fill out a PDF form, simply click on the appropriate line and type. When form is completed, select ' File > Print ' (or click on printer image in Acrobat) and print the form on your standard printer. Preview does not allow users to type into the document, even if it is formatted to be completed electronically. We recommend users open Acrobat Reader from the Applications file, then select File > Open and choose the appropriate document. Should I upgrade to current versions of READER?For older versions of ADOBE READER, the Adobe Acrobat Forms Fill-in may be needed. It is a plug-in software that is downloaded from the Adobe site for free and is loaded into your browser. Most likely, you would opt to update your free reader from ADOBE to the present 4.x version which contains all such plug-ins. Visit the Adobe About PDF page for further information.
