L.A. Infrastructure Academy prepares high school students for skilled trades and engineering careers. Working in partnership with the Los Angeles Mayor’s office, the school district, the Department of Water and Power, Southern California Gas Company, L.A. Trade Tech College and other partners, the Academy prepares students for solid careers in a job market that is seeking new members as its longtime baby-boomer workforce ages and retires. The program develops a work force that is demanded by the city, and provides well-supported and structured opportunities to young people who need jobs.
