Marqueece Harris-Dawson is the President and CEO of the Community Coalition, an organization that works to help transform the social and economic conditions in South LA that foster addiction, crime, violence and poverty by building a community institution that involves thousands in creating, influencing and changing public policy. His Stanton Fellowship will enable him to undertake a process to form a collaborative of experienced leaders, educators and trainers to guide African American leaders transitioning into leadership of service, social justice and faith-based community organizations in L.A.
