Maria Cabildo is the former President of the East LA Community Corporation (ELACC), an organization that advocates for economic and social justice in Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles by building grassroots leadership, developing affordable housing and neighborhood assets, and providing access to economic development opportunities for low- and moderate-income families. For her Stanton project, Maria pursued the elevation of street vending as an economic development solution for low-income residents, especially those who do not have the legal right to work.
