Ron Sossi was the Founder and longtime Artistic Director of the Odyssey Theater Ensemble, which he established in 1969. Known for staging plays that are provocative in both content and form, the Odyssey is a three-theater complex that continues to attract devoted audiences. An acclaimed director, Ron received numerous honors, including the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle’s first Lifetime Achievement Award in Directing. He also directed internationally in Europe and Asia and taught at UCLA, USC, UC Irvine, and other institutions. Past Odyssey seasons saw such Sossi-directed milestones as Peer Gynt, Mother Courage, Faust, and the eight-year run of Kvetch. Prior to founding the Odyssey Theater, Ron worked as a television executive at ABC.
