Father Gregory Boyle is the Director of Jobs for a Future and Homeboy Industries, a nonprofit program of the Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission. Located in East L.A, Jobs for a Future is an employment referral center and economic development program for at-risk youth. Homeboy operates several self-sustaining businesses — a bakery, silkscreen shop, and cleaning service, among others — which provide transitional, on-the-job training and employment for gang-involved youth. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Fr. Boyle worked in Bolivia after his ordination in 1984. He served as Pastor of the Dolores Mission from 1986-1992.
