LA Makerspace is a community-based organization whose mission is to foster innovation among Angelenos by offering increased access to new opportunities in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics). The Maker Movement is built upon the idea that one learns by making. Makers who tinker and build develop the skills necessary to become innovators in technology, education, research, and the arts. Whether it is for profession or just a hobby, makers possess the skills vital to success in a world that demands STEAM literacy. LA Makerspace offers free, family-friendly maker workshops to the public at various Los Angeles Public Library branches.
