Maria Brenes is the former Executive Director of InnerCity Struggle (ICS), where she served for over 20 years. The organization works to build a powerful and influential movement of youth and families on the Eastside of Los Angeles to promote healthy, safe, and nonviolent communities. ICS organizes youth and families in Boyle Heights, East LA, El Sereno, and Lincoln Heights to advance social and educational justice.
