Patti Giggans is the Executive Director of Peace Over Violence (POV), the first agency in Southern California—as well as one of the first in the nation—to deal with sexual and domestic violence. POV provides intervention and prevention services aimed at building healthy relationships, families, and communities free from sexual, domestic, and interpersonal violence. As the violence against women’s movement celebrated its 40th anniversary, Patti’s Stanton Fellowship sought to measure the impact of intervention strategies, identify social barriers and norms that contribute to violence against women and girls, strategize the paradigm shifts needed to solve this intractable problem, and draft a blueprint for the next 40 years.
