Patti Occhiuzzo Giggans is the Executive Director of Peace Over Violence, the first agency to deal with sexual and domestic violence in Southern California and one of the first in the nation. POV provides intervention and prevention services toward building healthy relationships, families and communities free from sexual, domestic and interpersonal violence. As the violence against women‰’s movement celebrates its 40th anniversary, Patti‰’s Stanton Fellowship will attempt to measure the impact of intervention strategies, identify social barriers and norms that contribute to violence against women and girls, strategize the paradigm shifts needed to solve this intractable problem and draft a blueprint for the next 40 years.
